Surprisingly I’m learning things from it tonight.
This is new. Still bored and ahead, so I’m browsing autotrader and such. Post what you want your next car to be if you buy anything, old or new, tomorrow.
I’m pretty split between a new Chevy SS in dark green or a Subaru Legacy GT wagon(with some meaningful upgrades made).

A Nogaro blue B5 S4. Juuuust like this.

I’m hoping when I get my next car, I’ll be keeping the VR4 as a winter car, so I’ll get something RWD and sporty.
1988 Porsche 924S
Miata probably NB
SN95 Mustangs

I’m with you on the SS. I’ll get one in either that blue or their equivalent of BRG.

I’d say go SS - some of us that need cars need to step up and buy them, or the manufacturers will conclude that we’ll never step up if they build the car we ask for ....

I see you're a fan of timing chain repair bills!

No timing chain on the B5 S4. That was the B6 and B7 with the 4.2.

My bad, it does seem I mixed up the “insanely unreliable” S4 generation with the plain old “unreliable” generation. Kidding, of course, but whenever you post about old S4 I can’t help but think about the reliability.
Carry on.
![]() 03/16/2016 at 21:38 |

They aren’t bad if you take good care of them. My previous car was an Audi A6 with the same engine, transmission and various other shit that the B5 S4 had. Never actually broke down, but things that are cheap in other cars are expensive in these cars.

Don’t I know it. The hope is to be able to afford one in a couple of years once I finish school.

The dark green that is offered is gorgeous. I’d be very happy with either.

That blue is just too pretty. Did these ever come in a wagon/hatchback?
![]() 03/16/2016 at 21:44 |

Yup, they’re super rare though.

Well I could put a deposit down on one tomorrow.
Honestly the SS does nothing for me, now a nice leggy GT .... grown up’s WRX.
![]() 03/16/2016 at 21:52 |

Well are you?
![]() 03/16/2016 at 21:56 |

We just got a Black/Black SS at my sister dealership...the want is strong. If I had to get rid of my M3 because I start a family (HA!LOL! god that is terrifying to type out) I’d have a tough time choosing between the SS or an ATS-V to fill the void.

Ha no, I’m procrastinating buying a car until I can test drive the 124 (“early summer”).
I was just following directions: “Post what you want your next car to be if you buy anything, old or new, tomorrow.”

End of May, Kona Blue w/ Recaros and Sunroof.

Perhaps you should, that design is pretty even if I don’t care for the badge and corporation that bought it from Mazda.
I feel the same way about the Miata, would prefer an S2000 in that type of car. My thought’s exactly about the Leggy GT as well, it’s very high on the list in a couple of years.

Do like.

Very nice, didn’t know they came in this color. Quite pretty, ordered or just buying then?
![]() 03/16/2016 at 22:08 |

Same, haha.

SS has a bigger trunk I’d think, worth it over the ATS-V.
How is dealership life? I’m considering finding a position with one later this year, hopefully not in sales. It depends on a couple of internship opportunities and other such things.

Depends on if I can find one close enough to those specs. I wondered why they ended Performance Blue until I saw this color in person, it is stunning.
As a Toyota fanboy, I’d love an 86, but this is just a better package.
![]() 03/16/2016 at 22:23 |

I know what you mean. My buddy asked me the other day why I didn’t go for a Toyobaru since I could have found one similarly priced to my Dart. No room and not much practicality for me.
![]() 03/16/2016 at 22:25 |
|
I’m keeping my 4Runner so practicality is of almost no concern. It’s just the 86 is made to be modified, and you can feel that. The FiST feels special and ready to go.
![]() 03/16/2016 at 22:26 |
|
I think I’d still prefer a Leggy GT wagon personally and give it the grown up WRX treatment. Plus WR Blue most likely. That S4 would be very nice in place of a Legacy.
![]() 03/16/2016 at 22:32 |
|
I see, you aren’t wrong about the 86 begging for mods. The Fiesta will definitely be nice. I’m a diehard for practicality in my vehicles with few exceptions, one such exception is that new ZL1 that sounds and looks like an utter monster.
![]() 03/16/2016 at 22:35 |
|
I like practicality, but I don’t need more. I can’t say I wouldn’t buy a GT350 if I had the funds, over the ZL1. Small engines need boost, big ones don’t. Unless they are diesel trucks, drag cars, or other forms of racecars. That’s my opinion at least. Plus, due to past transgressions, I wouldn’t buy a new GM.
![]() 03/16/2016 at 22:40 |

Bet the 4runner has that front more than handled. I gotta haul the dogs and sometimes drums, so 4-5 doors certainly help. I can understand your position, I’ve always been split between the oval and the general. Both are putting out amazing vehicles right now to be honest, can’t wait to see the ZL1 and GT350 comparisons start coming out.
Now if only we could get Toyota to make a cheaper V8 RWD sedan or coupe based on the Lexus cars. That’d change things up a bit.
![]() 03/16/2016 at 22:42 |
|
The 4Runner has hauled well past it’s payload more than once, and takes it like a champ. The payload that’s nearly the same as a new RAM 1500...
![]() 03/16/2016 at 22:44 |

Ha the S2k is my ‘if I’m responsible with my money car. And honestly I really only want the 124 over the miata because of exhaust noise.
Now to stoke the flame.
![]() 03/16/2016 at 22:46 |
|
Doesn’t say much for FCA/Ram that a 4Runner can out haul it.

*21 year old 4Runner with an Asthmatic Hamster as an engine.

That exhaust note is nice. Same boat with the S2K.
Perfection. Why must you taunt me? My buddy with his base model Foz has taunted me the last couple winters with snownuts. Can’t wait to put him to shame.

In August, premium, dark grey metallic.
Yeeeeeeeeee I'm excited.

I’d have to drive the SS before I made a decision, but after my brief stint in an ATS-V (w/ the auto) I came perilously close to leasing it. If my M3 got totaled, I would put in an order tomorrow for an ATS-V sedan (hate how the coupe looks) w/ manual, CF package, the Recaro seats, and no sunroof; probably in white or red.
I enjoy it, perfect job for me. Curious as to why you aren’t interested in sales?

I'm studying towards my bachelors in Supply Chain (and Logistics) management. More interested in that than selling.
